Michael Rand is co-founder and Managing Director of WindSail Capital Group. Michael brings to WindSail over 18 years of experience in private equity investing, structured finance and corporate finance. Prior to founding WindSail, Michael spent 11 years as a private equity professional, most recently as a Managing Director of GB Merchant Partners, a division of Gordon Brothers Group. Previously, Michael served as a Principal at Palladin Capital Group, a New York based middle market private equity firm. Prior to joining Palladin, Michael was a member of the Leveraged Finance/Merchant Banking Division of CIBC World Markets.
Michael received a B.S. from Georgetown University and an MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business. He currently sits on the board of Coaching4Change and lives in Wellesley, MA with his wife and three children.
Ian Bowles is co-founder and Managing Director of WindSail Capital Group. He brings over 25 years of experience in the energy and environmental sectors. Prior to WindSail, he served as Massachusetts Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs, where he oversaw a landmark restructuring of utility and environmental regulation which included making MA a top ranked state in energy efficiency, renewable energy and greenhouse gas emissions reductions. He was also chairman of the MA Water Resources Authority and the founding chairman of the MA Clean Energy Center. Earlier in his career, he served on the National Security Council staff of President Bill Clinton and was a Vice President at Conservation International where he played a key role in creation of the four million acre Central Suriname Nature Reserve.
Ian is a board member at the New England Clean Energy Council, First Wind, RGS Energy and the Museum of Science. He is an advisor to several other leading clean energy companies. Ian received his A.B. from Harvard College and a Masters degree from Oxford University. A native of Woods Hole, MA, he currently lives in Dover with his wife and two children.
Lauren Burrows is a Vice President who joined the WindSail team in August 2014. Prior to joining WindSail, Lauren worked for GE Energy Financial Services where she evaluated and executed investments in renewable energy projects. Prior to joining GE, Lauren was an associate at the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, where she invested in Massachusetts based clean energy companies. Prior to joining the Clean Energy Center, Lauren was an associate at Wind Point Partners, a Chicago based middle market private equity firm. Previously, Lauren was an analyst in the Investment Banking Division of Lehman Brothers.
Lauren received an A.B. cum laude from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She currently lives in Somerville, MA.
Matt is a Vice President who joined the WindSail team in October 2015. Prior to joining WindSail, Matt was a Vice President at Salus Capital Partners where he structured and managed a portfolio of asset based loans to lower-middle market businesses across the U.S. and in Canada. Prior to joining Salus Capital, Matt was an Assistant Vice President at People’s United Bank, where he sourced, underwrote and managed a portfolio of regional middle market commercial loans. Previously, Matt completed an eighteen month credit training and rotational program with People’s United Bank.
Matt is a member of the Commercial Finance Association and the Turnaround Management Association. Matt received a B.S. cum laude from Bryant University. He currently lives in South Boston, MA.
Gregory Zuboff is an Associate who joined the WindSail team in the Spring of 2014. Prior to joining WindSail, Gregory worked as an analyst for the Bank of New York Mellon. Previously, Gregory interned at PHOTON Consulting, a boutique solar energy consulting firm.
Gregory received a B.S. summa cum laude from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management. He currently lives in Boston, MA.
George Aggouras serves as WindSail's Chief Financial Officer, overseeing all financial and compliance functions for the firm. He has worked with private equity and venture capital firms as CFO for the past 10 years and has lent his practical experience to issues involving valuation, accounting, allocations, fund administration, financial planning, and compliance. Previously, George was a manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he worked predominantly with investment management clients.
George is a CPA and graduated from Babson College with a BA in accounting.
